Wigton's Got Talent III - The Final

Well done everyone who performed, I was extremely proud of you all.  I can't imagine how your parents must have felt.  Dylan's mum has given me a copy of her photographs to share.

Special visitors

One of our partner schools, West Burton CofE Primary visited us today to learn about Islam.  We spoke to them about the five pillars of Islam, tasted some food and some of our children spoke about their heritage.  Zainab and Amarah danced and Amaan brought in some clothes for us to try on.

The Highwayman

We have been studying the poem 'The Highwayman' by Alfred Noyes to learn about poetic devices. 

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,
And the highwayman came riding—
Riding—riding—
The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn-door.

He did not come in the dawning; he did not come at noon;
And out o' the tawny sunset, before the rise o' the moon,
When the road was a gypsy's ribbon, looping the purple moor,
A red-coat troop came marching—
Marching—marching—
King George's men came matching, up to the old inn-door.

We then illustrated our impression of the scenes for homework.

 

Homework Helper - Grid Method
