Wow, What a morning!
We have such a lot of talented children in school and I am delighted to be able to be part of this fantastic showcase. Today saw lots of entries from 5H: singing, dancing and comedy. Well done each and every one of you, I was very proud of you all. It is only day one and already the standard is very high. It is going to be so difficult to decide on who the finalists are! Whatever the outcome, remember that you are all winners in my opinion. I am looking forward to seeing what tomorrow and Friday brings.

Settlements
Today we were discussing different types of settlements. Can you find our school on this aerial photograph of our local area? I wonder if you can find your house on it. I have managed to find mine!
Now look at this map of the local area for a primary school in Todmorden. How does it compare with our local area?

Enterprising Design Technology
This term we have been looking at enterprise and how manufacturers survey customers before producing a new product.
We started by testing different biscuits; examining looks, taste, and texture. This helped us to inform our choices when designing our own biscuits. Yesterday we had fun making our biscuits. Thank you Mrs Child, Mrs Cawthorne and Mrs Box for your hard work.

Maths Puzzle Day
Key Stage 2 children had an exciting day today with a visit from The Happy Puzzle Company. The children had a lot of fun and some of them hadn't realised that they were actually doing maths!
A workshop for parents at the end of the day meant that the children could share their learning.

Apparently this is the most difficult puzzle available. Leanne said that nobody has ever completed it! |
Well done Aneesh, you proved her wrong... |

Our very own chef
What a wonderful time we had at the Hummingbird Kitchen and Bar on Monday evening. I went along with Mrs Child and Miss Wincerz to support Robbie in the cook off. Unfortunately, his Yorkshire Fish Pie was not chosen as the overall winning dish. I am sure that you will all agree that as the only entrant from our class, we are all very proud of Robbie.
Thank you to Dom Mernock for the photographs
